Members Share the Beauty of Nature with Local Seniors
The Nottingham Garden Club recently brought joy and color to the community by donating 240 handcrafted floral arrangements to area nursing homes. Club president Jasenka Derrico emphasized the group’s commitment to sharing nature’s beauty, saying, “The club’s mission is to share the beauty of nature with people.”
In a remarkable display of generosity and horticultural skill, club members used flowers from their own gardens, supplemented with bought flowers, to create the arrangements. Between 30 and 40 varieties of annual and perennial flowers were thoughtfully included, showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of local gardens.
The nursing homes receiving the floral gifts were Rose Hill Assisted Living, Complete Care at Mercerville Center, Avalon (Marquis), and Hamilton Grove. Residents at these facilities welcomed the arrangements, which helped brighten their rooms and bring a touch of nature indoors.
The Nottingham Garden Club’s donation is part of its ongoing efforts to connect with the community and promote an appreciation for gardening and the outdoors. The club extends its gratitude to all members who contributed their time, creativity, and garden blooms to this initiative.
