Plant Some and the Monarchs Will Be Grateful

Rutgers University Cooperative Extension of Ocean County reminds us that July is Milkweed Month.

Fall, which begins officially September 1, is the best time to plant milkweed (Asclepias spp.). That’s a scant seven weeks away as of this writing, so consider planting some when the weather breaks. Monarch butterflies would thank you if they could because milkweed is their only food source during their caterpillar stage.
